Watch the Randals bring in a Last Week Legato to finally put an over-played outrage-porn merchant to bed, one Bryan Smegmanengus of Gizmodo and OneEighth's attempt to drown his co-host in victory BOOL-Aidd during his second round of "Black Guy or White Guy?" featuring multiple subjects, all competitors for a new Grammy category: "Worst Fucking Rap Alias Goddamned Ever, by an Artist of Unknown race/gender."
The Randals will have some 'splainin' to do in Issue 25 however, having not done their due diligence to vet Charity Croff's "White Privilege Explained in Five Minutes" facebook video (or choosing to ignore it entirely, for their health). If their stomachs would have allowed them to finish watching it, akin to everyone else who exploded in rage after the first minute, paused and then commented on it, they all would have realized that the creators are simply muckraking to draw attention to their torpid clothing line and a near year-old goFUNDyourself page with ambiguously enunciated musical goals (there has been a donation spike since the debut of the video; they still haven't met their "goal," but hopefully the t-shirts and pillow cases are flying off the shelves).
This should be considered a "shot heard 'round the world," representing our basic and ugly human need to be in constant conflict with anything that even rears it's horned head in mock offense. Anyone who felt "good" after commenting, con or pro, about Charity Croff's video for longer than it would take to numb their brain with an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent afterwards is the reason why nuance is dead, perhaps was never alive... and everyone who didn't see this video as anything but an easy-target dollar sign, but still made content out of it, is why outrage pornographers be the new, bottom-feeding Kangs of media.
The Randals will talk once more about this depressing media catch-22 in Issue 25 because, once again, they are the victims and the players in it, all the same. Perhaps they can eventually resurrect nuance on the fertile graves left exposed, yet derelict when the hurricane of superfluous hyperbole happens to reach it's torrential grasp over the desert of the willfully ignorant.
